My Current Skincare Routine

I want to start off by saying… Always take your makeup off before bed! Sleeping with your makeup on irritates your eyes and skin and can age you faster. True story.

Take the Day Off I start by removing all my makeup with my Kirkland Daily Facial Towelettes. I love these wipes! They are larger than the average makeup wipe and have cucumber, chamomile flower extract, and aloe which make them perfect for anyone with sensitive skin or skin irritations. Yet, they don’t get everything. Like I said in my previous post, I was surprised at how much left over makeup was removed by my Clarisonic Mia 2 every night.

Cleanse You can use any cleanser with the Clarisonic, as long as it doesn’t have an exfoliating properties. I did break out a bit with the cleanser that the device came with so I’m using something a bit more gentle and tailored to my skin. I’m currently using (and loving) the Murad Renewing Cleansing Cream. This cleanser has gentle, but natural exfoliating properties but my local Sephora girl, who is also a Clarisonic user, said I was good to use it. My girl Loreen is a skincare expert so visit her at White Oaks and check out her Instagram @loreen.sawatzky (she does some pretty killer lash extensions too)! I love this cleanser because it’s designed for hydrating thirsty skin and tightening while improving dullness.

Tone and Moisturize I follow with my Yum Skincare Men’s Wild Blueberry Toner on a cotton round. This toner is alcohol free and blueberry is a great antioxidant! Then, since I cleanse at night, I use an oil instead of a moisturizer. I cycle through a couple but my current favourites are MAC Cosmetics Essential Oils (I love the gentle and calming chamomile) or the L’Occitane Almond Smoothing and Beautifying Supple Skin Oil when I want something a bit heavier.

The Next Morning Since I wake up still feeling a bit greasy, I use the Dermalogica Clear Start Foaming Wash in the morning to clean away any excess oil. This foaming wash is a bit too deep cleaning after using my Clarisonic so I’ll be switching to using a Spectro Cleanser or just a wash cloth with warm water when I run out. This will clear away any excess oil without over-cleaning the skin.

I recommend not changing your products too much when you start using a Clarisonic since your skin does freak out a bit with the change. Once your skin adjusts, try finding products that work best for your skin type!
