Favourite Highlighters
Highlighting and contouring is a huge beauty trend right now! Most recently, strobing has become and popular way to add a beautiful glow to your complexion. I have to say, I’m a fan. These are my current favourite highlighters!
BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfecter Pressed in “Moonstone”
This BECCA highlight is perfect on so many different skin tones! It’s a fairly neutral, champagne colour and is advertised as a “creamy powder luminizer that absorbs and reflects light for a superb natural glow.” That is exactly right. It easily blends perfectly over foundation and powder with a fluffier brush without settling into fine lines or pores. This highlight is awesome for that subtle hint of glow! Available at Sephora
Kat Von D Beauty eyeshadow in “Thunderstruck”
We’ve all heard Samantha of Batalash Beauty rave about this product, and she is seriously right. It’s beautiful as a hint of shimmer on the lid, but as a cheek and brow highlight, it rocks. It’s part of the Metal Crush eyeshadow range and all 11 shades have insane co
lour pay-off and metallic finish. I simply sweep “Thunderstruck” over the tops of my cheekbones for a reflective glow. It’s more of a white colour and a little bit goes a long way. Available at Sephora
NARS Illuminators
These NARS cream highlighters are my original go-to! My favourite is “Orgasm,” a golden-pink toned cream. These illuminators give are more dewy, or wet, finish. I use my fingers to pat over my cheeks for that wet look, or blend with a fluffy brush for a more diffused highlight. Available at Sephora
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in “Soft & Gentle”
If you love highlighter, this will be your best friend! “Soft & Gentle” is a pale gold, perfect for fair skin tones. I love how it adds a more shimmery reflective highlight, rather than a glow. The shimmer is buildable and can be applied wet and dry (apply wet by dampening your brush with water or Fix+, making sure your brush is not soaking wet, just damp to the touch). Available at MAC Cosmetics
